  Art and poetry share a long history. Artists have depicted heroic men and beautiful women from poetry since classical Greece. Homer’s epic poem was an important source time and again for early sculptors. Later, the Italian painter Michelangelo chose to express himself in painting, sculpture as well as in poetry. In the 19th century many English poets were inspired to write poems describing works or art and these have come to be some of the most famous in the language. Close to our time, the 20th century visual artist Cy Twombly’s works have been described as “poetic”. In out next session we use these reflections as a point from which to explore this long and un-definable relationship between art and poetry. നമ്മിൽ എത്ര പേർ ചിത്ര പ്രദർശനങ്ങൾ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്? എത്ര പേർ നമുക്ക് ചുറ്റിലും പ്രകൃതി ഒരുക്കുന്ന മായികമായ കാഴ്ച്ചകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്?. കെട്ടിടങ്ങളുടെ രൂപ സൗന്ദര്യം ആസ്വദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്? പരസ്യങ്ങളിലെ നിരക്കൂട്ടുകളിൽ ഒരു നിമിഷം അലിഞ്ഞു ചേർന്നിട്ടുണ്ട് ?. London പോലുള്ള നഗരങ്ങളിൽ എത്രയോ ഗാലറികളിൽ ചിത്ര പ്രദർശനങ്ങൾ പണം മുടക്കാതെ കാണാൻ അവസര മുണ്ടായിട്ടും നാം ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും അവിടങ്ങളിൽ പോയിട്ടുണ്ടോ? വരകളും വർണ്ണങ്ങളും ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ, മാനസിക പിരി മുറുക്കങ്ങൾ കുറയ്ക്കാം, ജീവിതം ആസ്വാദ്യകരവും സമ്പുഷ്ടവുമാക്കാം. 'കട്ടൻകാപ്പിയും കവിതയും' കടലാസും ചായങ്ങളുമായി നിങ്ങളെ തേടി യെത്തുന്നു. സംഘമായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ വർണ്ണാഘോഷ ത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കു ന്നതിന്  മുൻ പരിചയമോ പ്രായ-ലിംഗ ഭേദമോ ബാധകമല്ല. മുതിർന്ന അർട്ടിസ്റ്റു കളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ നടത്തുന്ന സംഘ രചനയിൽ മനസ്സിലുള്ളതെന്തും കടലാസിൽ പകർത്താവുന്നതാണ്, അതൊരു കറുത്ത വരയാണെങ്കിൽ കൂടി. രചനയുടെ മികവിനേക്കാൾ, അതിനുള്ള മനോഭാവവും  സംഘമായി ചിത്രം വരക്കുന്നതിലെ 'രസ'വുമാണ്‌ (fun) ഈ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ പ്രാധാന്യം. ഒക്ടോബർ 10 നു Stevenage ൽ വച്ചു സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച വർക്ക് ഷോപ്പിൽ കുട്ടികളും മുതിർന്നവരുമായി 15 ഓളം പേർ പങ്കെടുത്തു. ഒക്ടോബർ 20 നു ലണ്ടനിലെ മാനർ പാർക്കിൽ വച്ച് 60 കഴിഞ്ഞവർക്കായി   വർക്ക് ഷോപ്പ് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. താല്പര്യമുള്ള വ്യക്തികളും സംഘടനകളും ദയവായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുക. കല ജീവിതത്തെ കൂടുതൽ നിറമുള്ളതാക്കുന്നു. കലയിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുന്നതിനു  പ്രായം ഒരു ഒരു പരിധിയും മുന്നോട്ടു വയ്ക്കുന്നില്ല. അസോസിയേഷന്റെ  60+ sisters ക്ലബ്‌ അംഗങ്ങൾ തികഞ്ഞ ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെയാണ് ബ്രഷ് കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തത്‌. ഒരിക്കൽക്കൂടി ഇതുപോലെ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കണമെന്ന്  ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ സംഘാടകാർക്ക് തികഞ്ഞ ആത്മ സംതൃപ്തി. ചിത്രകാരനായ ജോസി ന്റെയും മുരളി മുകുന്ദന്റെയും മേൽ നോട്ടത്തിലാണ് workshop നടന്നത്.    {gallery}artfest-20-10-15:150:::{/gallery} Coffee 'N Poetry is organising the second workshop of “The Big Draw” for 60+ sisters club members on 20.10.2015 at Kerala house, Manor park, E12 5 AD from 1pm.
