Earth Festival of Reading

If knowledge is the remedy, then serious reading is the direct means to achieve it. In this digitally divided world of ours, the emphasis is for that which stimulates constructive thinking. We strongly believe that the Earth has got enough resources to support all living organisms and if it is happening otherwise, this is primarily due to our lack of knowledge to manage it. Kattan Kaappiyum Kavithayum (KK&K) will be celebrating a month-long festival of reading with the support and participation of volunteers and organisations across the world. A global campaign aimed at stimulating serious reading is the core of this project which will culminate on World Book Day (April 23rd), proposed by UNESCO. MAUK, the parent organisation will have the full right to publish the entries in various media in different formats for common good.  Any dispute arising out of such use of the entries is subject to the laws of England. Kattankaappiyum kavithayum (Black coffee & poetry) is a project run by Malayalee Association of the UK (MAUK). After its launch in 2010, the project constantly engaged literary aspirants with various facets of literature, particularly in Malayalam. The team had been conducting open discussions, workshops and presentations on a regular basis independently and in partnership with various organisations. After a series of discussions and consultations, the team has come to a conclusion that knowledge has a leading role to play in curtailing the imperfections of modern society. A comprehensive understanding of various faces of knowledge like religion, science, literature, politics, spirituality, sports, health, wealth, environment etc could help an individual to keep an internal balance which would definitely get reflected in the individual’s actions. After identifying itself as the change agent, ‘Black Coffee and Poetry’ is launching a month long campaign, coined as ‘Earth Festival of Reading’ starting on 1st of April 2015 aimed at promoting wider reading. 'ഭൗമ വായനോത്സവ' ത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു Malayalee Associaion of the UK (MAUK) യുടെ  'കട്ടൻ കാപ്പിയും കവിതയും' എന്ന കൂട്ടായ്മ  ആഗോള തലത്തിൽ മലയാളത്തിലും ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലും കാവ്യ രചനാ മത്സരം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

• ഒരു വ്യക്തിയിൽ നിന്നും ഒരു രചന പരിഗണിക്കും.

• ലഭിക്കുന്ന രചനകൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ഏതു തർക്കവും ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിന്റെ നിയമ പരിധിയിൽ പെടുന്നതായിരിക്കും.  

മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് ദി UK, 2010 ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച 'കട്ടൻ കാപ്പിയും കവിതയും' എന്ന കൂട്ടായ്മ, സാഹിത്യ-സാഹിത്യേതര വിഷയങ്ങൾ ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുന്ന തുറന്ന വേദിയാണ്. ഒറ്റക്കും, മറ്റു സംഘടനകളുമായി ചേർന്നും പഠന പരിപാടികൾ നടത്തിവരുന്ന ഈ കൂട്ടായ്മ ഇതിനോടകം നാല്പതിൽ പരം വേദികൾ പിന്നിട്ടുകഴിഞ്ഞു. വ്യക്തി ആർജിക്കുന്ന അറിവ്  സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ അപൂർണതകളെ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിൽ വലിയ ഒരു പങ്കു വഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നും, അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു ബോധ സമൂഹത്തെ വാർത്തെടുക്കലാണ് ഇനിയുള്ള  പുരോഗതിക്കുള്ള ശരിയായ മാർഗ രേഖ എന്നുമുള്ള കണ്ടെത്തൽ ഇത്തരം ചർച്ച കളിൽനിന്നു മാത്രം ഉണ്ടായതാണ്. അറിവിന്റെ ചില മേഖലകളിലുള്ള ആഴത്തോടൊപ്പം മറ്റു മുഖങ്ങളോടുള്ള  സ്വീകാര്യതയും, അവയിലുള്ള പരപ്പും ഈ പ്രക്രിയയിൽ അത്യന്താപേക്ഷിതമാണ്. കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ പദ്ധതിയായ 'ഭൗമ വായനോത്സവം' ഇതിലേക്കുള്ള ആദ്യ കാൽവയ്പാണ്. വായനയെ സർവാത്മനാ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുക. വായനയിലൂടെ ബോധതലത്തിൽ ഗുണകരമായ പരിവർത്തനമുണ്ടാക്കുക.   കൂടുതൽ വിവരങ്ങൾക്ക് ബന്ധപ്പെടുക.
