Malayalee Association of the UK paid tribute to late Dr.Sukumar Azhikode at a function held at Froud Centre, Manor park, London. “Our mash is there, he will take care of this” people of Kerala had this reassurance in their mind in crisis points, that is what we lost said Priyavrithan opening the literary evening. “Sukumar Azhikode was the conscience of Kerala. He was standing there with his red board to warn them to `stop` from anti-social thoughts and activities, That is what we are missing today” said Manambur Suresh of Kerala Kaumudi, Europe section. The function was organised by ‘Kattan Kaappiyum Kavithayum’, the Malayalam literary wing of Malayalee Association of the UK. The contributions made by Azhikode to both Malayalam literature and Kerala society were well acknowledged throughout the discussions. Three books were presented to the audience as a part of the event. ‘Thatvamasi’ is a gateway to our great tradition, a tradition which embraced all religions with open arms. That was the greatness of Upanishath. Some western critics questioned the validity of it because they couldn’t comprehend such an ancient knowledge existed without their knowledge. That is due to their Eurocentric perception” said A Francis presenting ‘Thatvamasi’”. Manambur Suresh presented ‘Sukumar Azhikodinte Sambhashanangal’ edited from interviews by PV Murukan. Highlighting the thoughts of Azhikodu, Suresh said we are thankful to these books because of these Sukumar Azhikodu will be with us for a long time to come. Sugathan Thekkepura presented ‘Sukumar Azhikodinte Athmakadha’ and detailed the work and life of Sukumar Azhikodu. Francis Angilose presenting 'Thatvamasi' Manambur Suresh presenting 'Sukumar Azhikodinte Sambhashanangal' Sugathan Thekkepura presenting 'Sukumar Azhikodinte Athmakadha’
