Artist Jose Antony - ProfileGraduate in Fine Arts from Thrissur Fine Arts college, India Jose’s works are driven by the observation of the human condition, and the social problems occurring around him. His aim is to raise questions to engage with the audience. Currently, he is picking up stories from newspapers relevant to his social concerns. He combines selected clippings and words with appropriate ordinary objects to create a disquieting mood on a two-dimensional surface.Through the processes of blending different objects he conceals certain parts of the work while revealing others to the viewers. The activity of concealing and revealing is an attempt to make a form or space which has an immediate impact, and which addresses disregarded and affected people. Thus the work arouses an enigmatic atmosphere which reflects disgust at the actions of human being. EducationBA Honours 1st Class in Fine Art - University of Bolton Lancashire UK 2010.MA Fine Art - Uinversity for the Creative Arts Farnham Surrey UK 2012. Report: 20.01.2012 Thank you very much Artist Jose Antony for demystifying modern art and introducing us to the world of ever changing art. We enjoy a beautiful evening at the sea side without understanding how the sun became red or what the clouds are made up of or the salinity of sea water. Still we are very particular that we must understand all the hidden meanings of a work of art. We fail to recognise if the rhythm of colours, the curves, the lines catch our mind for a while. The biggest learning of the workshop was to enjoy modern art without any conditions. An introduction to 200 years of modern art, a practical session on painting and an enjoyable learning of a different kind was the end product. The programme was organised in association with London Sahithya Vedi. {gallery}2013/modernart{/gallery}
